The Shortest Lunch

The Yarra Valley's smaller winemakers cordinate the Shortest Lunch which is a major activity during late Autumn / early Winter for the region. After paying a one off entry fee at your starting winery, for which you receive a souvenir tasting glass, you can move from participating winery to particpating winery tasting a selection of their wines while partaking of entrée size meals (for a small charge per meal).

It's the perfect way to meander around the Valley's boutique wineries with the only objective being to savour great food, wine and music at your leisure. The Shortest Lunch is held to coincide with the Winter Solstice, the shortest weekend of the year.

Between 10 to 15 boutique wineries open their cellar doors and over the course of a weekend you could probably visit them all. For some you can sit by their open fire enjoying the wine in others you can clap and sing along to the music.
