Montsalvat Jazz Festival
The Festival has been a regular event on the jazz calender and is held within the stunning buildings set in 12 acres of the Montsalvat gardens in Eltham. You can do more than soak up the festival atmosphere, you can explore the grounds or view the current art exhibitions. On the Montsalvat grounds is The Meeting Pool, the restaurant featured in The Age 2011 Good Food Guide.
The Festivals musicians are all stars of the jazz world, from Paul Williamson who has appeared on Rockwiz and Spicks & Specks, to Julien Wilson, who was named 2008 Jazz Artist of the Year. The Andrea Keller Quartet regularly performs at major jazz festivals in Australia and overseas. Their album Thirteen Sketches won the ARIA award for the Best Jazz Album in 2002. The festival ends on a high with Allan Browne, who has been described as a National Living Treasure.
On the day enjoy eating special festival paella created by the Monsalvat chef.
