An annual festival held at the Federation Square, to promote ethical consumption and purchases in the lead up to Christmas. There will be activities for the whole family, including live cooking demonstrations, fashion shows and creative displays. This year's theme will focus on a holistic approach about what is good and the practices that we can adopt in our daily lives to provide positive outcomes for the world.
Each presentation is backed by lengthy research of ancient carols, poems, songs, dances and the writing of narrations. It has now been decided that future Pageants will be based on this past body of research. "Shepherds Watched, Angels Sang" was originally presented in 2008. The Early Music Consort, Rippon Lea Dancers and associate artists will again be in period dress for this moving and joyful revival. Intermission Afternoon tea will be provided at intermission with all proceeds going to the Australian Red Cross.
A Christmas celebration for the whole family, with craft activities and unique performances for the kids until 7pm, including face painting, roving performers, and a special slapstick circus performance by Trash Test Dummies. Carols follow at 7.30pm.
